At VINCO we are specialists in the supply of strips of different materials that adapt to all types of applications. The steel strips with rolling hardness that we offer you are divided into three symbolic classifications depending on the carbon content and the treatment of the material: the C45E designation is governed by the EN 10132-3 standard. This type of strip is composed of 0.42-0.50% carbon with steel normalized by a heat treatment that improves its mechanical properties; while the C67S and C75S designations are governed by the EN 10132-4 standard. These steel strips are composed of 0.65-0.73% and 0.70-0.80% carbon, respectively. According to each chemical composition, mechanical properties and hardness requirements are determined based on maximum tensile strength (Rm N/mm2) and maximum Vickers hardness (HV max). All this information is detailed in the mechanical characteristics section of the product data sheet.
The finishes for steel strip with rolling hardness are determined under EN 10132-3:2000 and EN 10132-4:2000, but they must always have a shiny surface finish as a result of the cold rolling process. As far as the level of roughness is concerned, it can be determined at the time of order or quotation according to the customer's requirements.
The supply possibilities we have available at VINCO include the cookie or coil format, spooled and palletized. It is important to take into account that, depending on the curvature of the strap coil, what is known as deflection or winding memory can be produced. All delivery formats are equipped with protection systems that guarantee the shipment and transport of goods in good conditions: box, lid, intermediate cardboard or wooden blocks, corner protectors, anti-dust plastic bag, VCI anti-humidity paper or plastic, phytosanitary or maritime packaging and anti-humidity bags.
Regardless of the type of supply applied, the density of high-carbon steel strip is 7.85 kg/dm³. And if you want to calculate the weight and dimensions of the coil, we make it easy for you with our weight calculator. Contact us for more information.

Note: it is possible to specify the hardness values or the tensile strength values, but not both. If neither of the two values is specified, the tensile strength value is calculated.
The specification for tensile strength/hardness must fall within a range of 150 N/mm² or 50 HV, unless expressly stated otherwise in the commercial agreement.

Surface finish can be "rough" (RR), "matte" (RM), "smooth" (RL).
Products with MA and MB surface appearance are generally supplied with RL surface finish. If "rough" or "matte" surface finish is requested, the corresponding symbol must be indicated in the designation.
Surface appearance | Special surface finish
Symbol | Characteristics | Field of application
MA | Bright, clean, metallic surface; pitting grooves and scratches are not allowed. | All thicknesses and supply conditions. | RR, RM, RL |
MB | Bright, metallic, clean surface; pitting grooves and scratches are acceptable as long as the smooth, uniform appearance is not substantially affected to the naked eye. | Thicknesses ≤ 2.0 mm and supply conditions +LC +CR | RM, RL |
The different surface finishes for the +LC and +CR conditions are as follows:
